Jezus

Jezus is one of the 27 children who received the gift of surgery during the Smile Network’s mission in Ajijic, Mexico, thanks to the team of medical professionals, generous donors, and the staff at Ribera Medical Center. Every child is special, but meeting a child like Jezus tugs at your heartstrings in a profound way.

Life has not been easy for Jezus and his mom.

While pregnant, Jezus’s mom was told that her son might not survive due to encephalitis, but Jezus had other plans. As a single mom with limited support from her community, she faced many challenges. Before the surgery, Jezus avoided leaving the house because of bullying and had no friends due to his appearance.
But Jezus and his mom are fighters. Now, Jezus is embracing a new quality of life, filled with opportunities, and feels stronger than ever.
